The VCTA Diversity & Inclusion Charter

VCTA members recognise the importance of improving gender and ethnic diversity across the VCT industry, including in Managers, on VCT Boards and within portfolio companies, and of building inclusive working environments and cultures which seek, invite and promote diversity. 

This is essential not only from a fairness and equality perspective, but there is also a growing body of evidence to support the case that diversity enhances performance and creates, ultimately, more successful businesses, which in turn drives greater prosperity throughout the UK.

The VCTA Policy Committee will be responsible for actively encouraging diversity and inclusion within the VCT industry.  It will be a central point for collating information about initiatives for improving diversity and inclusion and will share this across the membership.  It will also organise an annual diversity survey of the membership and share the results with members and other industry stakeholders, in order to improve transparency and to measure progress.

VCTA members commit to:

  • Taking actions to improve diversity and inclusion within their own businesses and in portfolio companies, drawing on the list of possible initiatives shared by The VCTA Policy Committee.
